Monetization

Standby Letter of Credit

Financial instrument monetization (SBLC/BG) is the process of liquidating the valid instrument by converting it into currency and transferring the instrument to the monetizer or retaining ownership and taking out a loan without recourse against the instrument.

To monetize a financial instrument such as an SBLC (Standby Letter of Credit),  it must have already been issued from a bank with an excellent rating, the client must be in possession of it, and have legal documentation that gives them control over the issued instrument. The instrument must be lien-free and verifiable through a recent RWA (“Ready, Willing & Able" Letter) of the issuing bank which allows the monetizer to verify that the instrument can be transferable and is not being used for another purpose.

Monetizing does not require any upfront charges or fees of any kind. Your SBLC is transmitted via SWIFT code MT799/MT760 (bank to bank) and, in return, it is monetized and the funds are transferred directly to the client.

Basic documentation required for SBLC monetization

  • CIS

(Company Information Sheet) of the company that owns the instrument.

  • SBLC

Copy of the emitted SBLC documents

  • RWA

Recent Ready, Willing & Able Letter from the issuing bank
